Speakance Terms of Use
Last updated: July 20, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of Speakance, including the iOS app and related web pages. By using Speakance, you agree to these terms.
Use of the app
Speakance is provided as a tool for capturing and organizing personal expenses through voice, text, manual entry, Siri, App Shortcuts, widgets, Live Activities, notifications, card-statement reconciliation, exports, backups, subscriptions, and related ledger, report, and insights features. You are responsible for reviewing entries and verifying financial records.
Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your email/password credentials, Apple account access, and any device where you stay signed in. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
Data accuracy
Parsing and categorization features may be automated and may make mistakes. Users should review and correct entries as needed, including statement matches, statement-imported charges, subscription-generated charge drafts, and reconciliation status, especially before relying on exported files, filtered reports, summaries, or dashboards for tax, reimbursement, accounting, or financial decisions.
Notifications, widgets, and device features
Widgets, Live Activities, Dynamic Island controls, microphone capture, Speech Recognition, and notifications depend on device settings, OS permissions, network conditions, and Apple platform behavior. These features may be unavailable or behave differently depending on your device, iOS version, and settings. Direct widget recording requires microphone access and Live Activities to be enabled.
AI usage limits
Voice, text, and optional AI statement parsing may be subject to separate daily limits and short-term rate limits. Manual entry and local statement reading remain available when AI processing is unavailable, paused, or rate-limited, although some statement formats may be less complete without optional AI help.
Subscriptions and recurring charges
Subscription tracking is provided as an organizational aid. You are responsible for confirming due charges, skipped charges, canceled subscriptions, payment methods, and next-charge dates before relying on them.
Statement reconciliation
Statement reading and matching are organizational aids, not bank synchronization or accounting verification. PDF structures vary by bank, and Speakance may omit, misread, duplicate, or incorrectly match a transaction. You are responsible for checking the selected statement card, payment method, date range, currencies, amounts, automatic matches, possible matches, exclusions, and any charge selected for import before confirmation.
Password-protected statements are unlocked locally with the password you provide. If local reading is uncertain, you may be offered optional AI help using filtered, redacted transaction text. Do not import a statement or request AI help unless you are authorized to process the information it contains.
Reports and filtered exports
PDF reports, CSV exports, filtered summaries, converted estimates, and other analytics are provided for convenience. You are responsible for checking date ranges, trip and card filters, currencies, reconciliation status, and included raw capture text before sharing or relying on exported files.
Currency conversions use dated reference rates when available and remain estimates. A cached or clearly labeled offline fallback may be used when the reference-rate service is unavailable.
Exports and backups
Speakance may let you export PDF reports, CSV files, or JSON backups and import backups. You are responsible for storing, protecting, validating, and restoring exported files carefully. Exported and backup data may include reconciliation status, statement duplicate-protection fingerprints, queued captures, recently deleted items, subscriptions, and metadata. Imported backups can overwrite local app data.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Speakance to violate applicable law, interfere with service operation, attempt unauthorized access, or abuse usage limits.
Availability
The service may change, be interrupted, or be updated over time. Features may vary by version.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the service if required for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or service maintenance.
Disclaimer and limitation
Speakance is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
