Common issues
- If password reset email does not arrive, check spam/junk and confirm the email is typed correctly.
- Voice capture requires microphone access, and Speech Recognition access can improve on-device transcription fallback.
- Direct Home Screen voice capture requires iOS 18, microphone access, and Live Activities enabled. Use Open & Record if you prefer to start capture inside the app.
- If a widget shows old totals, open Speakance once to refresh the latest ledger snapshot.
- If ready notifications do not arrive, confirm notifications are enabled in iOS Settings and in Speakance Settings.
- Some captures may be auto-saved when Speakance is confident; you can still edit saved expenses in the ledger.
- Use the Ledger status filter to separate reconciled and unreconciled expenses while matching a statement.
- Select multiple saved expenses in the Ledger to mark them reconciled or update category, trip, or card together.
- Subscriptions live in Insights. Add recurring charges there, then review or skip due charges when they appear.
- Trip summaries live in Insights when a trip filter is selected. They include totals, audit filters, reconciliation context, and trip-scoped exports.
- Voice and text AI captures have daily usage limits. Manual entry remains available when AI capture is paused.
- Offline captures stay in the queue and can be synced or reviewed from the Ledger tab when connectivity returns.
- If Sign in with Apple uses a private relay email, Speakance may show the account as signed in with Apple instead of showing the relay address.
Data tools
Speakance includes PDF and CSV report export, JSON backup export/import, recently deleted restore, and monthly cleanup tools in Settings and Ledger. Keep exported files somewhere private because they may contain your expense history, queued captures, reconciliation status, recently deleted restore data, subscriptions, trips, payment methods, categories, and preferences.
Account recovery
Use the password reset page if you arrived from a reset email link.
Account deletion
In the iOS app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account to permanently remove your account.
